The world's best-known sheepherder, the Border Collie has been justfully named the workaholic of the canine world. The Border Collie possesses extreme intelligence, great working ability, and amazing instincts. Most Border Collies are athletic and medium in size and can have a rough or smooth coat in an assortment of colors and patterns.

First classified as the "Scotch Sheep Dog", the Border Collie was invaluable between England and Scotland to shepherds, which needed to maintain flocks of sheep. Today's Border Collie has been around for over 100 years and in the second half of the 19th century, Queen Victoria became an active follower of the breed.
