The Boston Terrier is rightfully known as an "All-American" dog with lively personality and extreme intelligence. This compactly built terrier is known to convey determination and strength. The Boston Terrier is usually found to be black, brindle or seal in coloration.

Developed in the stables of Boston, Massachusetts following the Civil War, the Boston Terrier was bred to be a fighting dog. The ancestor of today's Boston Terrier came to be when an imported breed known as "Hooper's Judge" was sold to a man in Boston in 1870.
