The Cane Corso is characteristically a very lean, large, and muscular dog. Cane Corso's are much more athletic looking that other mastiff breeds and they generally weigh between 80-110lbs.
Since the Cane Corse is a relatively newly discovered breed, its history is mysterious and opinions vary. Generally agreed upon, the Cane Corso is a farm dog used to control property, hunt big game, and for personal protection. The Cane Corso was probably derived from the same roots as the Neapolitan Mastiff
