The unique Dalmatian is the only spotted canine breed. Dalmatians generally have great intelligence, speed, and endurance and are perfect as a family pet. Often found is dog shows and competitions, the Dalmatian has a short coat that is white with liver or black spots.

Made famous through the Disney cartoon "101 Dalmatians", spotted dogs have made appearances through history in Africa, Asia, and Europe. The Dalmatian as we know it today has been a dog or war, a shepherd, a mascot for fire departments, and a trail hound / retriever. The Dalmatian also has a strong affinity for horses, which remains instinctually to this day.
