One of the most popular breeds in America, the Golden Retriever is very intelligent and eager to please its master. The Golden Retriever is commonly used as a great guide dog for the blind as well as for search and rescue missions. Golden Retrievers have a golden coat, which can vary in light and darkness.
The Golden Retriever was originally found during the last half of the 1800s in the Scottish Highlands where they were used for hunting missions. Lord Tweedmouth developed the breed as a dog, which was adaptable to the climate of Scotland, and terrain where game was prevalent.
