Cherry eye in cats is a condition in which the third eyelid falls down or slips out of place and is then visible in the corner of the cat’s eye. Unlike people which only have 2 eyelids, cats have another eyelid that is normally invisible otherwise known as the nictitating membrane. The function of this third eyelid is to help protect and moisturize the eye through its tear gland.

Narcolepsy is a condition that causes excessive sleepiness during the day, sudden collapse, and cataplexy. This type of condition is very rare in cats, but it can be easily identified due to the cataplexic episodes that commonly occur in narcoleptic cats. While all cats are prone to excessive sleepiness and sudden naps, cataplexy is a type of brief paralysis in the muscles that will spontaneously resolve.

However even though cats can suffer from a stroke, the symptoms and effects of stokes in cats are much different than symptoms and effects of strokes in people.
