8/25/2009 : My two week scare
Well my humans went on something called a vacation.They wanted to take me but because people always stereotype me and because of my size mom said the parks wouldn't let me come .So mom found someone to take care of me for a few days.I have been away from my humans only once before for three days, so i thought it was no big deal.Boy was I wrong!!! My mom dropped me off with an aquaintance of hers that trains and breeds german shepards. He was nice.I spent my first night with him and his dog at his house,it was o.k. but not like home.I already missed my family.Three days ,thats all i can handle it.
After three days my mom didn't come and get me, where was she? then mike took me to the kennel he worked at. Most of the dogs were o.k. there was only one dog that iI didn't get along with.I guess he was racist or something cause he didn't like the fact that i was was white.He was an all black German Shepard that thought his sh*t didn't stink.Well let me tell you IT DID! It smelled just like everyone elses, not ROSES. Any way after a while I started to think maybe my mom wasn't coming back.I started to get worried, then they brought in a new dog with puppies and it had FLEAS!!!! I'm allergic to fleas,needless to say they threw a moving in party all over my body.Just when i thought I was about todie my mom came HOME and rescued me!! MY MOM was so GLAAAADDDD to see me and i was glad to see her too!! SHE took me home KILLED those nasty Fleas and fed me treats.MY BOY,girl,and dad gave me tons of hugs and kisses.then promised never to leave me again when they go on vacation.People need to learn we may look scary but were not.NOR are we related to pit bulls, rottweilers or any other of those dogs that most people fear because of bad owners. My mom says most dogs aren't inherently bad.Its because they aren't properly trained or loved that a dog goes bad.Most dogs given the right situation can be loyal, trusted and loving memebers of any family.I tend to think shes right. My next vacation wont be so scary now that I know my family would never let me go.

My mom says that all dogs should be properly socialized with people. Roxy ( american pitbull) a dog in my house was socialized at my gammie's store. She met lots of people, all saizes, shapes and types. Going on vacation with your family means you meet a lot of new people and people can be educated about the breed. Can't do that if your not allowed to go. My mom buys my food and stuff from Petsmart because I can go in there. Others stores say no to dogs. I am glad you get to go with your mom and dad now. :)

I'm glad you aren't scared they will leave you now. That's a terrible feeling. Glad the fleas are dead too!!!
