9/24/2009 : 9/24/09-OKC, Joplin, Home
Well.. we made it to Oklahoma City today and spent alll day long waiting to load some hotel A/C units. What a pain. They were way to tall to tarp, but they had to be tarped. Mom hurt her shoulder, again, helping Dad tarp them, so Dad said she can't help anymore for a long time.
They didn't have any ladders.. How dumb is that?
The forklift guy had to put dad up on the top of the load by him standing on a pallet. They didn't even have a 5-pt harness... which is probably why they aren't ISO 9000 certified!
When we left from loading we had a flat.. so we had to go to the TA and get a new tire. We waited and waited.. four hours just to get a tire done!
We watched Transformers 2 while we waited. It was good, but we really wanted to get going.
We took off and drove all night and made it to Joplin. It poured on us the whole time.
Dad's buddy, Charlie called. He was in St. Louis.. and so were we! We met up at the Truck Stop just inside the Illinois line. I got to get out and play for a while. I like Charlie!
After Mom and Dad took showers and did laundry they ate dinner with Charlie. Then we watched "Hang Over" waiting for the garage to finish Charlie's truck. It broke when he pulled into the parking lot. I think the anti-freeze was leaking.
Anyway, they finally finished the truck around midnight and Mom went to bed. Dad and Charlie drove to Spiceland, IN.
We finally got back to the yard and Dad insisted Mom go home. She got up sick this morning and her arm and wrist are really bothering her.
So... Mom and I are at home now and Dad is in NJ delivering the AC units. He should be home tomorrow sometime. {I miss him already!}
Mom's been sleeping a lot but got up and added this to my Diary. ;)
I'm going to go play with my toys.

Whew, Turbo what excitement when on the road then boredom when waiting for a tire fix. Good your Mom has you to keep her company while she recoups her shoulder. My Mom's shoulder is old and takes a long time to recoup from any sprain. Everyone is home together tonight. Sorry their vacation got cut short, but glad things are back to normal here.

Hi Turbo, glad you got back home safe and sound. Not so good at having to wait all that time for a new tyre - what were they doing?? making it??;-) Although sounds like your mum hasn't done so well in hurting herself.. At least she has the comfort of her own home to recuperate. Sounds like you have a lot of fun on your trips though.
Hope your dad gets back in good time tomorrow nad that your mum is soon up and feeling better.
Have fun with your toys little pal - You should get your mum to get you a red ball and take a photo and you could then be part of the Red ball gang-it seems to have caught on amongst our friends. Purrs and Pawpats TCx
