11/2/2009 : Operation question
First thank you to Colby for asking. I thought I answered but then I lost it, so I will try again. I tore a ligament in my leg and they replaced it with an artificial one, cost $2200. I can not jump or run or do stairs until the end of the year. It is driving me and my family a little crazy. But other wise I am healing well. Which is great considering the dog they had before me, Cuddles, a minature french poodle had a similar operation but at a different dr. and they wrapped the leg too tight and it turned black and had to be cut off, so she spent her last years with 3 legs, dies at age 13. So my family was a bit nervous, this new dr. is very good and there was no bandages, just stitches. I had to take 3 kinds of medicine, 2 are done and one I will take for life. I can not wait until I can run and jump and be my normal self again, chasing squirrels and birds and rabbits and taking walks, so much energy pent up, a dog needs his fun :)

Amber- Are you in a cast? Hope that the weeks fly by so that you can do your favourite things of running and Jumping. Thats is a lot of money, but I bet your family think it well worth it to have you out of pain. How sad about Cuddles, although a lot of dogs seem to be OK with 3 legs. I think it sounds like this new Vet is a nicer one;-) Purrs pal for a quick recovery - Paws are crossed for you TC x

Wow I ruptured a tendon in my back leg at about 4 months. I didn't need surgury but had to be as immobile as possible for 6 months. I was very hyper back then so dad says I was a terror. Once healed though all is fine so don't worry you'll be back normal soon.
