siberian husky information

The Siberian Husky was first bred in Asia as a sled dog and has been known for its extreme endurance and love of work. Siberian Husky's have amazingly friendly personalities and make a great dog for anything from companions to therapy dogs to sledding powerhouses. The Siberian Husky has a very dense cashmere-like bottom coat and a long coarse top to keep it warm because it originated in very cold climates.

Common belief is that the Siberian Husky came from within the Chukchi Tribe from the eastern Siberian peninsula. Used first around 1908 in a 408-mile long dogsled race called the All-Alaskan Sweepstakes, the Siberian Husky has served in Arctic Search and Rescue Units during the World War II era.
